Confident Classrooms

Confident Classrooms teaches public speaking and communication that can benefit every elementary school student. Teachers will discover that our exciting classroom sessions not only fulfill the Common Core Language Arts Standards for Speaking and Listening, but also facilitates student demonstration of standards across the curriculum. By developing their expertise in effective communication, students will integrate much needed skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. Social media has taken a toll on the development of interpersonal communication skills, and more than ever, children need direct instruction in speaking and connecting with one another in “real life”. Confident Classrooms not only serves elementary school students, but also parents and teachers. We work face to face with students offering them group and one on one coaching to integrate the needed skills. Topics include structuring ideas, how to deliver a presentation, communicating in class, effective body language, and building confidence. We love what we do and we have fun doing it! We love being a part of your students’ success!

Teacher Workshops:

Training for the full staff/faculty, typically at a staff meeting. The workshop is experiential and meant for the teachers to brainstorm and experience what their students will learn. At the end of each workshop teachers will walk away with actions to take in their classroom to increase the success of students’ public speaking and communication skills. In addition, teachers can continue to build their own learning.

Student Small group Workshops:

This workshop is intended for a target group of students. An easy time for this is in centers or when other students are already engaged in other projects.

Like student workshops, students will work on a given topic, but in small groups so learning is more focused. Often this is an opportunity for English Language Learners to accelerate their learning.

parent workshops

Workshops for parents are geared with the needs of their kids in mind. By the end of each workshop parents will leave with strategies to use at home in helping their children with presentations for class but also for every day communication: going to a restaurant, asking a question while shopping, getting their kids to talk more at mealtime.
